  A ‘Europe of the Regions’ would further the autonomy or even independence of places such as Scotland and Wales ‘in Europe’; it would help in creating regionalism in England and reforming the unwritten constitution of the British state with its archaic conception of sovereignty as the indivisible preserve of the Westminster Parliament.   This report describes both the eleven biogeographical regions and the seven regional seas around Europe in comparable chapters. The main focus of the chapters is on wild-living species, on the major ecosystems and some selected natural or semi-natural habitat types. The geographical coverage of the report is Europe to the Urals with surrounding regional seas.

When I think of romantic locations around the world to explore with my partner, my mind immediately wanders to Europe. The likes of Paris, Rome and Venice are incredibly romantic city explorations, however some of the best destinations to explore with your other half are tucked away in the countryside, offering nothing but relaxation, great food, great wine, and of course, . `Europe of the Regions', even though they have taken place in a vastly different political and economic environment. In the following, this discrepancy will be analysed. The question is whether the `Europe of the Regions', considering its conceptual history as discussed above, can.
